- When was the last time that you said NO?
- Who do you say NO to?
- Can you say NO to a person, to a situation or event?
Are there certain people that you want to say NO to, but just cannot formulate the word? (NO to going out somewhere,
saying NO to doing some sort of activity, or NO to going out when you should rest, etc.)
There might be a certain place that you know is not good for you to go to, but you always find yourself drawn to
it. You might always tell yourself that you are never going to go there again, but you do because you can't say NO to
it. There may be a person that you know is not a good influence or someone who always uses you, but although you always regret
being with the person, you always find yourself with him/her because you feel that you can't say NO to them.
It is remarkable that so many people can say NO to something good or to a good person, but
when it comes to a bad situation they don't say NO.
Interestingly enough,
there were countless times in my life that it seemed that I intentionally put myself in potentially dangerous situations.
I said yes to things that I should have said no to. It seemed that at times I lost all understanding of good
judgment and my perception was off. If that is the case with you, then find someone good in your life who can make
a good decision and ask them if what you are about to do is good or bad.
Saying
YES to people and to certain situations is good, however when we begin to say YES to the wrong things and to everything that
comes our way, that can be an opening to a potential problem. Be careful when saying YES to everything that you don't
become consumed with pleasing people that you lose all sense of who you are and you become what others want
you to be.
Remember, if you cannot make a decision, then find someone in your
life who can make a good decision and ask them if what you are about to do is good or bad.
You can say NO and win!
